Learning and Development
On above main title, under mention sub
title will be elaborated in this article.
Concrete Learning
Introduction
Individuals that learn best with hands-on methods and show the
most success when doing it themselves, being involved with their learning
process and “doing” rather than “watching.”
Theory behind the Model
There are theories by many experts on
above concept, but the best method of practical learning could be considered as
concrete learning. Eg; Medical surgeons, physiotherapist and Farmers / Planters
uses above concept to exercise successfully on their day to day affairs.
Some learning styles, categories focus only
on the environmental aspects of learning “Kolb’s learning styles include
perception and processing. According to Kolb, learners perceive and process
information in a continuum from concrete experience, reflective observation,
abstract conceptualization, and active experimentation:
- Concrete Experience: being involved in a new experience.
- Reflective Observation: watching others or developing observations about one’s own experience.
- Abstract Conceptualization: creating theories to explain observations.
- Active Experimentation: using theories to solve problems and make decisions.
Understanding how
people learn is important in order to improve the teaching and learning
environment and most critically to actually improve an individual's learning.
The ability to constructively modify one's behavior depends on how well we
combine our experiences, reflection, conceptualization, and planning to make
improvements. Recognizing an individual's strengths and preferred learning
style in this process will allow the tailoring of the learning experience to
that person and increase the efficiency with which something is learned, with
obvious positive effects on time, utilization, and outcome.
Experience shows enthusiastic learner
undergoes fallowing;
I like to get involve –
I like to take my time before action and break them in to parts – I’m particular about what I like and open to
new experience – I really on my feelings
and like to see the results of my work.
Conclusion,
When an individual or a group attends to an
experiment it motivated by the question, "What would
happen if I did this?" They look
for significance in the learning experience and consider what they can do, as
well as what others have done previously. These learners are good with
complexity and are able to see relationships among aspects of a system.

Clear good content great work
ReplyDeleteGreat. Just finished as it got interesting. If you had used some latest reference it would have been better.
